JMMB, CPJ led gains during Friday’s trading
JMMB Group and Caribbean Producers Jamaica (CPJ) led gains during Friday’s trading of the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE).
JMMB gained 11 per cent to close at $36.62. It was followed by CPJ up 7.4 per cent to $6.99. The day’s biggest loser went to 1834 down 10 per cent to $1.02.
The JSE Combined Index advanced by 1,545.87 points (0.40 per cent) to close at 387,722.52.
The JSE Index advanced by 1,325.24 points (0.35 per cent) to close at 381,255.95. The Junior Market Index advanced by 29.78 points (0.88 per cent) to close at 3,412.86. The JSE USD Equities Index declined by 2.53 points (1.48 per cent) to close at 168.68.
Overall Market activity resulted from trading in 56 stocks of which 30 advanced, 23 declined and 3 traded firm.
Market volume amounted to 18,768,352 units valued at over $208.8 million. WISYNCO Group was the volume leader with 8,160,974 units (43.48 per cent) followed by JMMB 7.50 per cent with 6,000,000 units (31.97 per cent) and SCOTIA Group with 960,106 units (5.12 per cent).
