Javaniel Patterson stars on holiday racing card at Caymanas Park

Two-kilo claiming apprentice Javaniel Patterson starred on Tuesday's Emancipation Day racing card at Cayamanas Park  with a double including CHOO CHOO BLUE in the 1100-metre Betting, Gaming and Lotteries Commission Trophy feature race.

The United States-bred four-year-old filly closed fast as a team with ANOTHER BULLET to zoom past BUZZ NIGHTMARE and SIR BUDGET, who disputed the lead from three-and-a-half furlongs out.

CHOO CHOO BLUE, running light at 49.0 kilos, proved too strong for ANOTHER BULLET with 52.0, winning by a half-length in a fast 1:06.1.

BUZZ NIGHTMARE, who carried 57.0 kilos, giving weight all around, finished third but had his placing reversed, disqualified and put fourth behind SIR BUDGET.

Patterson's first winner was 4-1 shot THE NEXTBIGTHING in the sixth event, taking over from LOLA GREY a half-mile out in the 1400-metre race.

Racing continues at Caymanas Park with another two-day holiday meet - next Saturday and Monday's Independence Day, which will feature the 10-furlong Prime Minister's Stakes.
