Jamaican woman held after stolen items, ganja seized in Bahamas

A 46-year-old Jamaican woman is in police custody in The Bahamas, along with a 44-year-old male Bahamian, following the discovery of stolen items and ganja plants at a home in the territory recently.
Reports are that shortly after 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 8, police and immigration officers, acting on information, went to a community, where they first discovered a number of stolen items and 10 pots of suspected marijuana plants of clearly growing heights.
The Jamaican woman who was allegedly found in the area of the discovery was arrested and taken into police custody.
During further searches at the premises, 50 more ganja plants were reportedly discovered.
The Bahamian male, who was reportedly found in the area of the subsequent search, was also arrested.
The ganja plants that were seized have a street value of $30,000.
Further investigations are ongoing into the finds and seizure.
