Jamaican reportedly among six held in boat off Florida coast

A Jamaican has reportedly been numbered among some six persons who were held by the United States Coast Guard off the Florida coast over the weekend.

The coast guard reported that the Jamaican and a Bahamian were the two Caribbean nationals found on board an 18-foot console with its lights out some 15 miles east of Jupiter in Florida.

The identities of the detainees have not been revealed.

The others who were taken from the vessel were two Sri Lankans and two Brazilians.

The six persons were handed over for processing by US Border Patrol and Homeland Security.
