Jamaican dollar strengthens against US counterpart

The Jamaican dollar strengthened $0.50 against its US counterpart on Wednesday.

The dollar closed at $144.61 from $145.11 on the previous trading day, according to the Bank of Jamaica trading summary.

The local currency lost ground against both the British Pound and the Canadian dollar on Wednesday.

The pound sold for $178.50 on Wednesday from $176.16 on the previous day and the Canadian dollar sold for $106.21 from $105.82 on the previous day.
