Jamaican dollar starts trading week 73 cents stronger

The Jamaican dollar will start trading on Monday than the previous five trading days, according to the Bank of Jamaica (BOJ) trading data.

The dollar closed Friday at $135.77 from last Monday's $136.50. It resulted in the dollar trending into the $135 territory.

In March the dollar hit its strongest position in over 12 months when it entered the $124 territory.  Since that time, the local currency has depreciated.

The pound closed at $172.50 starting the trading week at $178.57 Canadian dollar closed at $101.57 from $101.72.
