Jamaican dollar gains 35 cents against US counterpart

The Jamaican dollar appreciated by 35 cents against its US counterpart on Monday after steady depreciation during November.

The currency closed at $135.47 on Monday from $135.82 on the prior trading day.

The British Pound Sterling closed at $173.78 from $177.52, while the Canadian dollar closed at $102.32 from $102.28.

The dollar started November 1 at $140.42 to US$1 but depreciated to a new low of $142.23 on November 12, before the Bank of Jamaica announced interventions.
