Jamaican dollar gains 14 cents against US counterpart

The Jamaica dollar appreciated by 14 cents on Monday as it slightly pulled back from its weakest position against its US counterpart.

The dollar closed trading at $142.31 against the US counterpart.

It hit its weakest position on February 13 when it closed at $142.58 against the US dollar. 

Meanwhile, the British pound closed at $183.75 and the Canadian dollar closed at $107.48.

The foreign exchange spot market executed net sales of US$7.4 million comprised of US$30.4 million in purchases and $37.8 million in sales.
