Jamaican dollar gained $1.47 last week

The Jamaican dollar appreciated by $1.47 during the trading week after weeks of depreciation, according to Bank of Jamaica (BOJ) trading data.

The dollar will start trading on Monday at $126.47 from starting last week at $127.94.

It appreciated amid announcements by the BOJ under its B-FXITT that it would neither buy nor sell into the system for a two-week during a period of strong inflows.

The pound closed at $166.21 from starting the trading week at $167.06. While the Canadian dollar closed at $94.28 from $96.29.
