Jamaican dollar down by 72 cents

The Jamaica dollar depreciated on Monday and continues to trade at a weaker level since the start of January, according to the Bank of Jamaica trading summary.

The dollar weakened by 72 cents on the day to close at $136.46 for US$1. The dollar weakened by $3.35 since the start of the year when it opened at $133.11.

Also on Monday, the British pound closed trading at $173.27 and the Canadian dollar closed at $101.84 on the day.
