Jamaican dollar down 30 cents against US

The Jamaican dollar lost 30 cents against its US counterpart on Tuesday, according to the trading summary from the Bank of Jamaica (BOJ).

It closed at $136.85 against the US from $136.55 the prior day.

Based on the average pace of depreciation since July, it is likely to hit $137 on Wednesday or later this week. 

Also on Tuesday, the British Pound Sterling closed at $174.36 from $173.72, while the Canadian dollar closed at $105.27 from $105.07.
