Jamaican dollar appreciated by $2.61 last week

The Jamaican dollar appreciated by $2.61 during the trading week after weeks of depreciation, according to Bank of Jamaica (BOJ) trading data.

The dollar will start trading today at $128.41 from starting last week at $131.02.

The dollar appreciated amid announcements by the BOJ under its B-FXITT that it would neither buy nor sell into the system for two weeks during a period of strong inflows.

The pound closed at $170.56 from starting the trading week at $169.55. The Canadian dollar closed at $96.16 from $100.01.
