Jamaica Producers up nearly 14% to lead gains

Jamaica Producers Group Ltd (JP) led gains in Monday’s trading of the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE).

JP gained 13.73 per cent to close at $14.99. It was followed by Lasco Financial Services Limited (LASF), up 12.25 per cent to close at $3.94.

The day’s top loser was Margaritaville (Turks) Limited (MTL), down 9.09 per cent to close at $0.30.

The JSE Combined Index advanced by 166.81 points (0.06 per cent) to close at 265,427.18. The JSE Index advanced by 92.57 points (0.04 per cent) to close at 251,590.92.

The Junior Market Index advanced by 7.61 points (0.24 per cent) to close at 3,132.76. The JSE USD Equities Index declined by 6.86 points (3.70 per cent) to close at 178.50.

Overall Market activity resulted from trading in 51 stocks of which 17 advanced, 25 declined and nine traded firm.

Market volume amounted to 7,131,357 units valued at over $63,011,411.36. K.L.E. Group Limited was the volume leader with 2,305,004 units (32.32 per cent) followed by Stationery and Office Supplies Limited with 961,015 units (13.48 per cent) and Consolidated Bakeries (Jamaica) Limited with 626,000 units (8.78 per cent).
