Jamaica Producers leads trading gains

The stock gained 11 per cent to close at $16.92 after 37,200 units traded hands. Also Blue Power gained 9.0 per cent to close at $55.00 followed by Access Financial, which gained 8.7 per cent to close at $38.10.

The day's big loser went to Caribbean Cream which declined 11 per cent to $7.27.

Meanwhile, the JSE Combined Index advanced by 312.28 points ( 0.13 per cent) to close at 246,853.10.

The JSE Index advanced by 1,062.40 points (0.46 per cent) to close at 232,341.70. The JSE All Jamaican Composite Index advanced by 1,188.13 points (0.47 per cent) to close at 254,946.15.

The Junior Market Index declined by 65.11 points (2.09 per cent) to close at 3,055.11. The JSE USD Equities Index declined by 4.72 points (2.05 per cent) to close at 225.95.

Overall Market activity resulted from trading in 50 stocks of which 19 advanced, 20 declined and 11 traded firm.

Market volume amounted to 5,884,645 units valued at over $49.8 million. CAC 2000 Limited was the volume leader with 1,914,500 units (32.53 per cent) followed by Cable & Wireless Jamaica Limited with 1,163,642 units (19.77 per cent) and Radio Jamaica Limited with
352,518 units (5.99 per cent) .
