A fire at a manufacturing plant along Marcus Garvey Drive in Kingston is causing chaos for drivers heading out of the city on Monday evening.

There is currently a massive traffic build-up along the major thoroughfare as well as sections of downtown Kingston.

Motorists are being advised, if possible, to use alternative routes.

The Jamaica Packaging Industries plant became engulfed in fire earlier Monday. The circumstances that led to the blaze are still unclear.
