Jah Romie XO looking to 'Chase De Millz'
Portmore-based dancehall artiste Jah RomieXO is raising eyebrows in the dancehall world with his savvy lyrics, his distinctive fashion sense and his impressive set of tattoos.
The deejay's latest single, the get-money, paper-chasing 'Chase De Millz', released on the Chase Mills Records label, will be made available on iTunes and other downloadable platforms on February 8, 2019.
"The response so far has been incredible, everyone loves it, very positive feedback, overseas fans can't wait for it to drop on iTunes, and people want to see a video," he said.
Romano a.k.a Jah Romie XO got his noteworthy name from a melting pot of ideas. Jah came from a dancehall selector by the name of Six Killa to represent his consciousness, Romie is a mere shortening of his birth name and the ever popular slogan XO which he dedicates to the ladies.
"All this came together to represent my distinctive musical brand. Music is a way of expressing myself by putting out how I really feel in the universe and so inspire people to work hard and keep motivated. My brand of music is simply uplifting, real and inspirational," he said.
JahRomieXO grew up in the Old Braeton area of Portmore, and comes from humble beginnings. He attended Jonathan Grant High school in Spanish Town and it was through hanging out with friends who recognised his talent, that he started his musical journey. He recorded his first single, 'Vodka' at the Louis V studio in 2014, and has graced the stage of events such as Braeton Jamboree and Harrison Town stage show. He is also a regular of the party scene in Portmore.
JahRomieXO’s other singles include “My Time”, "Elevate" and his most popular single to date, "If I Were You".
"I am going to carve out my place in dancehall, you can count on that," he said.
