Iyara hits 100,000 views with 'Clu' video
Dancehall artiste Iyara has experienced a major boost in his career with his breakthrough single, 'Clu', produced by his management team, Time Records, racking up over 100,000 views on Youtube in the last three weeks.
"I'm well focused, and I know exactly what I'm doing. Everybody love the video, the intro, the whole concept, when you read the comments from the fans, it's a great look. Right now, my views up, the social media active, the radio, especially DJ Sunshine, is giving me a big strength, and in the streets, the response is massive, mi ah cover the ground," he said.
The 'Clu' song has been a fixture on several mixtape selectors adding the song to their mixes this Summer. Now, Iyara has followed up the success of 'Clu' with the release of a new single, 'Bank of America' featuring Chronic Law. The single, produced by Up to Time Records, has generated 47,000 spins on YouTube in the last three weeks.
"Right now, the response is huge to 'Bank of America', look out for the video soon, big up the Law Boss," Iyara said.
Iyara is gearing up for his annual birthday celebration, 'Indelible White', which will be held on July 5th at Boasy Tuesdays headquarters at 134 Maxfield Avenue.
He recently severed ties with the Bounty Killer-led Alliance. He formed part of the Alliance Next Generation camp in 2011, and during that time, he was known for songs like 'Sicka Dan Flu' and 'Tepp Inna Di Road'.
In the meantime, Iyara is preparing to do a number of shows in Canada, and USA over the next couple of months.
"We ah cover the ground inna Jamaica first, and the requests ah come in from all over the Caribbean and North America but mi ah gwaan pressure the promotion, and put in the work," Iyara said.
