ISP up 15% to lead gains on Wednesday

Micro-lender, ISP Finance led gains in Wednesday's trading session of the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE).

ISP gained 15 per cent to close at $23.83 followed by Mayberry, up 14 per cent, to $5.29, and Caribbean Cement, up 12.3 per cent to $29.99.

The biggest loser on the day was Consolidated Bakeries, down 11 per cent to $2.65. 

The JSE Index advanced by 2,963.64 points (1.26 per cent) to close at 237,400.71.

The JSE All Jamaican Composite Index advanced by 3,252.77 points (1.26  per cent) to close at 260,561.14.

The Junior Market Index declined by 12.17 points (0.37  per cent) to close at 3,256.15. The JSE USD Equities Index closed at 212.61.

Overall Market activity resulted from trading in 47 stocks of which 25 advanced, 16 declined and six traded firm.

Market volume amounted to 7,325,795 units valued at over $87.8 million. Supreme Ventures Limited was the volume leader with 2,283,585 units (31.17 per cent) followed by Cable & Wireless Jamaica Limited with 2,064,744 units (28.18 per cent) and GraceKennedy Limited with 778,096 units (10.62 per cent).
