IronRock Insurance led double digit gains during trading week
IronRock (ROC) double digit gains on Friday’s trading of the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE).
The stock gained 13 per cent to close at $4.50 with 30,000 units trading hands. It was followed by Jamaica Producers (JP) and Fosrich (FOSRICH) both up 6.0 per cent to close at $26.01 and $3.31.
The top losing stocks went to Express Catering down 19 per cent to close at $6.42 followed by General Accident Insurance down 11 per cent to close at $3.90.
The JSE Combined Index declined by 1,506.63 points (0.42 per cent) to close at 359,819.39.
The JSE Index advanced by 4.59 points (0.00 per cent) to close at 352,221.51. The Junior Market Index declined by 136.58 points (3.97 per cent) to close at 3,299.73. The JSE USD Equities Index declined by 0.16 points (0.10 per cent) to close at 166.94.
Overall Market activity resulted from trading in 60 stocks of which 22 advanced, 31 declined and 7 traded firm.
Market volume amounted to 38,306,231 units valued at over $247 million. Express Catering (ECL) was the volume leader with 23,411,735 units (61.12 per cent) followed by JMMB group 7.5 per cent with 5,971,000 units (15.6 per cent) and AMG Packaging & Paper Limited (AMG) with 1,714,425 units (4.5 per cent).
