Indies Pharma, Jetcon led Tuesday's stock gains

Indies Pharma and Jetcon Corporation both increased 11 per cent to lead gains on the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) Tuesday.

Indies closed at $3.78 with 525,000 units trading. Jetcon closed at $1.90 with 75,000 units trading hands.

Fosrich gained 10 per cent to close at $5.33 and Cargo Handlers also increased 10 per cent to close at $11.

Ciboney led declines, down 14 per cent to $0.12.

The JSE Combined Index advanced by 92.52 points (0.02  per cent) to close at 527,288.16. The JSE Index declined by 378.40 points ( 0.07  per cent) to close at 530,916.10.

The JSE All Jamaican Composite Index declined by 416.40 points (0.07  per cent) to close at 583,146.86. The Junior Market Index advanced by 40.27 points ( 1.13  per cent) to close at 3,599.01. The JSE USD Equities Index declined by 2.92 points ( 1.50  per cent) to close at 191.47.

The JSE Financial Index declined by 0.01 points ( 0.01  per cent) to close at 144.85.

Overall Market activity resulted from trading in 72 stocks of which 29 advanced, 36 declined and seven traded firm.

Market volume amounted to 52,297,788 units valued at over $344.4 million. Sagicor Select was the volume leader with 24,684,133 units (47.20 per cent) followed by Wigton Windfarm with 15,185,749 units (29.04 per cent) and The Lab with 1,928,642 units (3.69 per cent).
