ICYMI: Watch PM give update on preparation for coronavirus

As concerns about the coronavirus continue to spread across the island, in its latest address to the nation, the government has announced several new measures in a bid to contain the spread of the dreaded virus that is now infecting at least 12 persons locally.

The new measures include major adjustment to workforce arrangements and the shutting down of some business activities.

Here is the Government’s latest update on the virus and the state of the country’s preparation, in case you missed it.

The Government has said in addition to that, 26 persons are in quarantine in state facilities, 42 are in quarantine at home, and 23 have been isolated at public facilities.

This is in addition to roughly 12,000 residents who are under quarantine in the communities of Seven and Eight Miles in Bull Bay on the St Andrew/St Thomas border, where public health officers have reportedly already visited some 269 households and conducted interviews with 642 persons.
