Ibex gives back through Go Green Initiative
Ibex staff recently participated in Coastal Clean-up Week across the island as part of the “Ibex Givesback” community initiative.
In keeping with the “Go Green” campaign, ibex Jamaica brought in busloads of employees to the coastal sands of Fisherman’s Beach to help clean and restore the beaches.
“Our employees who were taking part in our annual VIP event which honours our top performers, arrived with plastic bags and gloves in hand, ready to do their part to help keep Jamaica’s shorelines clean,” said Jaime Vergara, VP of operations and country manager of Jamaica. “Over 400 people took part including our chief executive officer Bob Dechant and our chief executive of operations, David Afdahl. These are the kind of events Ibex employees take pride in participating in because it builds employee relationships and values.”
Ibex Givesback is a programme dedicated to ensuring ibex supports the communities where they live and work.
The goal for the day was to remove plastic waste and non-biodegradable materials from the shoreline and ensure the beaches were clean. This is just one example of the kinds of activities ibex employees have done for their local communities.
The ibex CALA VIP event includes the top performers from both Nicaragua and Jamaica. They were celebrated over the two-day event with fun activities, a singing competition and an awards dinner.
