House stripped of washer, fridge, TVs, couch; man charged in Negril

The Westmoreland police have arrested and charged 43-year-old Carl Whyte of Hideaway Lane, Negril, Westmoreland for the offences of Housebreaking and larceny following an incident that occurred in White Hall, Negril in the parish on Wednesday, March 25.

Reports are that about 3:30 pm, the complainant securely locked up his house and left to visit family members.

On his return on Friday, March 27, he discovered that his house had been broken into and the following items were missing:

●             An LG washing machine;

●             A Frigidaire refrigerator;

●             Two Samsung televisions, and

●             A couch.

On Monday, July 20, during a police operation in Negril, the LG washing machine was recovered.

Whyte was identified as a suspect as the investigation continued, and was later arrested and charged.

A date for his appearance in court is being finalised by the police.
