Hit-and-run driver involving 2-y-o child in MoBay surrenders

The driver of the motorcar that mowed down and killed two-year-old Sasha-Gaye Dennis and injured her 10-year-old sister in Montego Bay, St James on Tuesday evening, has turned himself in to the police in St Thomas.

The suspect reportedly surrendered himself to the Morant Bay police.

Reports are that about 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, the two sisters, their mother and two other siblings were crossing a section of Howard Cooke Boulevard in Montego Bay when the two sisters were hit down by a Nissan Note motorcar which was heading in the direction of Coral Gardens.

The two girls were taken to the Cornwall Regional Hospital, where the two-year-old was pronounced dead and her sister was admitted in a serious condition.

The driver sped away from the scene and was being sought by the police since then.
