It’s Friday, it’s V-Day and your date-night hotlist is ready!

From the south-west to the capital city, the Loop Lifestyle team has shortlisted tried and true watering holes around the island that are as secluded as they are sumptuous.

More importantly, today isn’t about what everyone around you is giving/receiving. Today should be about caring for the person you love in ways everyone would appreciate.

This could be self-care, booking a spa date for your partner, hosting a buffet at home with family and loved ones, sending your boss a bouquet of flowers because he/she needed a pick-me-upper, or making reservations for a dinner date alone or with bae.

You know Jamaica’s gone V-Day crazy when Red Stripe has added new Malta flavours and their #ItsBeerLove campaign.

But, if you’re not into the fuss this go-round, evade the last-minute hassle and go for chiller, relaxed options.

Here are some great options for dinner around the island. TripAdvisor also lists a few out-of-town spots here.

The Porch

The Porch (@theporchja) is offering a complimentary cocktail with a four-course dinner at a $7000 price point. Make your reservations early as dinner is only 6 pm – 8.30 pm

Chive

Chive has dedicated an entire weekend to V-Day dinner dates. With a welcome cocktail, four-course dinner and a 13-piece V-Day menu option, date night with bae is about to get interesting.

Carib5/Palace Cineplex

Though the theatres are more likely to be packed than the restaurants, this date night option is the ideal foreplay.

Popeyes

This option was inspired by a meme shared on the gram recently, which made us realise just how many people just like to chill. Netflix, Popeyes & Chill sounds like a win-win!

Mom & Pop Restaurant

Reservations are maxed out at your favourite restaurant? Pull up at your nearest mom and pop restaurant – the one you could get a fried chicken with curry gravy – and eat-in or share a ‘rosemantic’ dinner in the car.

To kick things up a notch, drive to the beach and dine under the stars in the comfort of your vehicle.

Reggae Mill Restaurant

The Reggae Mill Restaurant has created a special offering for love day with a three-course dinner menu that’ll set you back $3,950. And, for the regulars who can’t get enough of the braised oxtail even on V-Day, options from the regular menu will still be available.

Summerhouse at the Liguanea Club V-Day breakfast, lunch, and dinner

Be it breakfast, brunch, or dinner, Summerhouse at the Liguanea Club is ready to take your order for Valentine’s Day.

The idea of a V-Day brunch is kinda growing on us since we can’t all make it to dinner.

Breakfast is served à la carte between 7 am and 10.30 am. Lunch will be ready at 12 pm and runs ’til 3.30 pm; at a cost of $5,750. Dinner starts at 7 pm and ends at 10 pm; at a cost of $7,500.

L’Escargot

For the lovers on the North Coast, at US$60 per person, you and your loved one/s can be treated to a four-course culinary experience with fine dining, live music and a taste of France.

Valentine’s Day at Terra Nova

At US$65 per person, you and bae can get a five-course dinner in luxury at the Terra Nova All-Suite Hotel.

Dine at the Regency Room or for buffet, poolside at The Terrace.

Catcha Falling Star

This cliff-side eatery is said to be among the most romantic spots on the island with “unobstructed ocean views”.

This one is special because there aren’t any special V-Day offerings, as Catcha Falling Star celebrates love year-round.

Reservations, however, are appreciated.

Pier 1 Mobay

Pier 1 in Montego Bay is going all out on V-Day with Love on the Waterfront and adding a Lingerie theme to their weekly Pier Pressure party series.

At $7,000 per couple, you and your partner can score a three-course meal for two, live entertainment and a candle-, and moonlit-view like no other.
