Police operating in the Clarendon state of emergency seized two firearms and three rounds of ammunition during an operation in the Cornpiece community in South East Clarendon on Thursday, October 3.
Reports are that about 11am, law enforcers were on operation at an abandoned building in the community, when the guns, ammunition and a firearm sound suppressor (silencer) were found at the back of the premises.
No arrest was made in relation to the seizure.
In tandem with the development, the police are appealing to the public to report the whereabouts of wanted persons, illegal firearms and ammunition by calling Crime Stop at 311 or the police 119 emergency number.
