Gun and ammunition seized by the police across three parishes
The police say they are still questioning three men who were held during an operation that led to the seizure five .45 cartridges and nine 9mm cartridges in Central Kingston on Saturday.
Reports are that a team of police personnel went to Anderson Road in Allman Town and during a search, five .45 cartridges along with nine 9mm cartridges were seized.
Three men were taken into custody in relation to the seizure.
In another operation in the St Catherine South Police Division, officers seized 16 rounds of ammunition during an operation in Hellshire in the parish, also on Saturday.
Reports from the Portmore police are that about 11.30 pm, lawmen were in the area when they saw two men who ran on seeing the police, during which an object fell from one of them.
The object was retrieved, and closer examination of it revealed that it was a magazine containing sixteen .40 rounds of ammunition.
No one was arrested in relation to that seizure.
Investigations continue into the incident.
And in another operation, this time in St James, also on Saturday, a chrome Taurus pistol was seized by the police during an operation in Glendevon in the parish.
Reports from the Montego Bay police are that about 3.30 pm, law enforcers were in the area when an opened lot was searched and the weapon was found in bushes.
No arrest was made in relation to the seizure.
Investigations continue in relation to the find.
