Gun and ammo reportedly seized from defiant men on bike in St Andrew

A Taurus 9mm pistol, along with eleven 9mm rounds of ammunition, was seized on Burlington Avenue in St Andrew on Saturday, November 17.

A man was arrested and is in custody in connection with the seizure.

He is 46-year-old Dennis Norine of Norbrook Drive, Kingston 8, was has been charged with illegal possession of firearm and illegal possession of ammunition.

Reports from the Half-Way Tree police are that about 3:20 a.m., a team of officers was on patrol, when Norine and another who were on a motorcycle, were signalled to stop.

They reportedly disobeyed the signal and sped off.

Norine, however, reportedly fell off the motorcycle, and was accosted by the police.

He was searched the weapon and ammunition were allegedly found on his person.

He was subsequently taken into custody and charged by the police.
