Guardsman (Barbados) Limited has acquired Viking Security Systems, a provider of comprehensive security systems in the eastern Caribbean territory.

Rudolph Green, managing director of Guardsman Barbados, promised that the union will secure enhanced services, adding that more security services will be rolled out soon.

“This is an incredible milestone for Guardsman Barbados as we continue to pursue new growth opportunities,” he said. “The acquisition allows Guardsman to give a much broader product offering to its clients; home and vehicle automation are just two of the products we expect to bring to the local market soon.”

Green added that before the acquisition, Viking had partnered with a third party for its response services to customers while it provided the monitoring aspect.

“Now, customers benefit from a combined service of monitoring and response from a single provider, Guardsman, which results in greater efficiency and a more seamless and timely call to action,” he said.

Headed by Hugh Callender, Viking Security is a leader in the local electronic security industry. The company commenced operations in November 1995 as a supplier and installer of a range of vendor security equipment.

Guardsman (Barbados) Ltd. is now fully responsible for the management of all contracts and servicing facilitated by Viking Security Systems.

Following the handover, Callendar sought to assure Viking’s customers that the acquisition would be beneficial to all parties.

“Our customers can anticipate great things. They will continue to benefit from the full suite of services previously provided by Viking Security and with the same level of professionalism and efficiency,” Callender said.

Guardsman Barbados’ range of services now includes the supply and maintenance of closed-circuit television systems, license plate recognition systems, access control systems, burglar alarm systems, fire alarm systems, intercom systems, smart home automation, web access systems, a 24-hour monitoring and response service and technical surveillance countermeasures.

Guardsman Barbados offices, which is located at Warrens Industrial Park, Warrens, St. Michael in Barbados absorbed Viking's staff following the acquisition.
