Granville man murdered in ‘Crime Free February’

Noel Campbell, 38, of Gordon Crescent, was killed following the recent launch of ‘Crime Free February’ by the Granville Peace, Justice and Resource Development Foundation.

Reports are that about 3:00pm gunshots were heard, shortly after Campbell was called outside his house by unknown persons.

Police, who were summoned to the scene, found Campbell suffering from gunshot wounds.

He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

No motive has been established for the killing.

‘Crime Free February’ — the brainchild of Michael Troupe, councillor for the Granville Division — was launched after the community recorded four murders since the start of the year.

Last year only one murder was recorded in the once-volatile community.
