Grange Hill man dies after being electrocuted while picking breadfruit

A man died Tuesday evening after being electrocuted while picking breadfruit from a tree in Grange Hill, Westmoreland.

The deceased has been identified as 48-year-old Delroy Calvin, a labourer of Spencer Ave in Grange Hill.

Reports are that sometime after 5pm, Calvin was picking breadfruit from a tree when he lost his balance and fell on a Jamaica Public Service Company high tension light wire. 

He was electrocuted by the energised line and pronounced dead at the Savanna-la-mar hospital.

The Morgan’s Bridge Police Station is investigating the incident.
