Gospel artiste Joseph Emanuel gets buzz with new single El Roi
Gospel artiste Joseph Emanuel is getting a lot of support on the gospel airwaves for his new single El Roi- The God Who Sees.
The song which was released earlier this month was written and produced by the singer with some help from his wife, Latiesha Millwood.
The artiste said the song was inspired by a Bible study on Genesis 16 and speaks of a God that sees people in the midst of their pain and distress.
According to him: “The song is dear to my heart. Many times we go through situations where we are hurting deep and even feel like giving up yet those around us don’t even know. But this song assures us that there is a God who knows what we are going through and is here to help.”
The new track not only acts as therapy to the spiritually and emotionally broken but also as a mood-lifter as its melody embodies a rich Caribbean vibe, with a smooth blend of reggae, acoustics and hip-hop.
“The single has been doing really good and has been getting heavy rotation. People have described it as contemporary, smooth, different and deep,” he said.
Joseph Emanuel in 2015 made his name on the gospel scene with his debut album Born Again.
He said the album was a testimony of his life which involved phases of Rastafarianism and Atheism.
Since Born Again, he has performed at numerous events and has shared stages with international artiste Kierra Sheard and local singers such as Kevin Downswell, Ryan Mark and Jermaine Edwards.
El Roi was recently featured on a summer mixtape called Sun & Beaches by DJ Marlon.
The artiste also revealed that he is now working with top directors Bloozick Filmworks on a music video for his recent hit single.
