Good Friday blues for licensed firearm holder whose gun got stolen

It was definitely not the Good Friday that a licensed firearm holder in St Andrew would have hoped for or anticipated this year.

Instead of having time to reflect on the spiritual side of his life and calmly share in other Easter festivities, his attention was forced by circumstances to be suddenly centred around his personal security and potential trouble with the law ahead, after his firearm was reportedly stolen from his home.

Reports are that the firearm holder’s Taurus 9mm pistol was stolen from his Zaidie Gardens home in St Andrew while he was out jogging in the early hours of the morning, between 4:30 and 8:00 a.m.

On his return from jogging, it was noticed that a door to his house had been damaged, and further checks revealed that the house had been broken into.

Several items, including the gun and a laptop, were reported stolen.

The Half-Way Tree police are investigating the development.

Licensed firearm holders are personally responsible for the safekeeping and custody of their weapons at all times.
