Gloria's seafood restaurant co-owner killed in car crash

A 49-year-old man, identified as one of the co-owners of the popular Port Royal seafood spot, Gloria's, was killed in a motor vehicle accident on Easter Monday, April 17.

Reports are that Cecil Prawl, 49, was driving his black Lexus SUV along the Port Royal main road towards the town when, at a section of the thoroughfare known as Lightbourne Corner, he lost control of the vehicle, which crashed.

Prawl was taken by ambulance for medical attention at a nearby facility, but was pronounced dead soon after arrival.

He was reportedly the lone occupant of the vehicle at the time of the crash.

Indications were that the impact of the collision was so significant that Prawl was thrown from the vehicle onto the roadway, where he was found suffering from severe head injuries. Speeding has already been theorised by the police as having been a major contributing factor to the crash.

His death has plunged the Port Royal community into mourning.
