Garvey Maceo win five from five in daCosta Cup

Garvey Maceo High became the first school to win five-straight games in the 2018 ISSA/Wata daCosta Cup schoolboy football competition when they won 4-0 at Winston Jones High on Match Day 9 on Friday.

The win allowed Garvey Maceo High, the 2007 champions, to open up an eight-point lead over second-place Denbigh High and third-place Dinthill High in Zone M.

Garvey Maceo are on maximum 15 points from five games, while Denbigh High and Dinthill High, which were idle on the day, have played four games each for their seven points.

Winston Jones High remain second-from-the-bottom with four points from five games.

Over in Zone C, Spot Valley High were held to a goalless draw at William Knibb High to remain in second place, two points behind leaders Cedric Titus High, which were idle on the day.

Meanwhile, Maggotty High were held to a 1-1 draw by Newell High at the Treasure Beach Sports Complex, a result that pushed them to 10 points from five games in Zone E, the same as leaders St Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS), which have played a game less.
