Ganja seized in Hanover man arrested

Narcotics police seized 10 pounds of compressed ganja and arrested a foreign national in Hanover.

Narcotics police seized 10 pounds of compressed ganja and arrested a foreign national in Hanover.

Detectives assigned to the Narcotics Police Division seized 10 pounds of compressed ganja and arrested a foreign national at his home in the parish on Wednesday, July 19.

He is 46-year-old Aubyn Shaw of Content district, Ramble, Hanover and Eglinton Avenue West, Toronto, Canada.

Reports are that about 10.30 a.m., lawmen were in the area when Shaw’s luggage was searched and five cylindrical shaped parcels containing ganja was seized.

He was arrested and charged with Possession of Ganja, Dealing in Ganja and Taking Steps to Export Ganja. 

He is scheduled in the St. James Parish Court on Wednesday, July 26.

Investigations continue.
