The Joy Spence Appleton Estate Rum Experience (JSAERE) will make history this Saturday, December 7, with the first-ever live night tour, featuring a special performance by reggae veteran, Freddie McGregor.

The historic occasion, Live at the Estate, will take place at the home of Appleton Estate in Siloah, St Elizabeth. The tour begins at 4pm.

McGregor, who has collaborated with Appleton Estate in the past, is thrilled to be part of the launch of Live at the Estate and expects a great experience: “I have worked with Appleton Estate for Signature Nights and people still talk to me about that show, the vibe, and energy. That really spurred my interest in being a part of Live at the Estate.  Appleton Estate events are always a good vibe, and I think this one will be another great experience.”

The artiste promises to give the audience a performance to remember: “I’m going to give the people a good time. The fans love me and have supported me for years; they know what to expect when the Big Ship Band touches the stage."

McGregor’s popularity skyrocketed in the early 1980s. Since then, he has delivered a surplus of hits such as ‘Bobby Babylon’; ‘Big Ship’; ‘Push Comes to Shove’; ‘Just Don’t want to be lonely’; and ‘I was Born a Winner’.

The singer's history in roots reggae is as rich as the heritage of the golden rums explored at the Joy Spence Appleton Estate Rum Experience. A beautiful combination for an audience looking to deep-dive into the history of the most exquisite rums in the world, while taking their sensory journey to another level alongside music and a delicious meal.

Those looking to enjoy the night tour and accompanying performance can expect a tiered experience. The night will include welcome cocktails on arrival, an Insta-Photobooth to capture the moment; and a violin performance by musician Ziah, all of which will prepare patrons for the hour-long rum tour.

The rum tour will then be followed by a rum tasting session, dinner in the Black River Lounge and ends with the promised performance of the evening by Freddie McGregor.

Live at the Estate is a new experience for rum and cocktail enthusiasts who want to learn more about Jamaican heritage while experiencing the wonders of the best rums in the world. The night tour aims to blend the ambiance of the cool St Elizabeth nights, delicious meals and great music in an unforgettable journey through the Appleton Estate.
