A driver and his three passengers are counting their blessings after escaping serious injuries in a motor vehicle accident on Monday morning.

Andre Gibson, the driver of a Toyota Noah motor car, told Loop News that he was traveling easterly along the PJ Patterson Highway about 8am when, upon reaching the vicinity of the Bernard Lodge Bridge, he lost control of the vehicle which overturned.

The passengers suffered minor injuries but expressed gratitude that it wasn’t worse.

"It’s a good thing that I was wearing my seat belt because (the car) dropped on my side and I was in the front," Sanda Powell, one of the passengers said, adding “we were all wearing seat belts”.

Powell said she was fine after the accident except for a few minor aches.
