Fisherman dead, three injured after Hanover bar invaded by gunmen

A man was shot and killed and three others shot and injured after gunmen opened fire on patrons at a bar in Hanover on Thursday night.

The deceased has been identified as 52-year-old fisherman Noel Usherwood of Johnson Town, Hanover.

Reports are that about 9:30 pm, patrons at a bar along the Johnson Town main road were sent scampering in different directions  when two men walked up and started to spray shots inside the business establishment.

After the shooting subsided, four persons were discovered suffering from gunshot wounds. They were taken to the Noel Holmes Hospital in Lucea where Usherwood was pronounced dead.

The three who were admitted have since been treated and released.

Investigators probing the incident are yet to establish a motive for the shooting.
