Fish vendor shot by licensed firearm holder in Ocho Rios

A man, believed to have been trespassing on a property, was shot and injured during an alleged altercation with a licensed firearm holder in Ocho Rios, St Ann on Friday.

Reports are that about 10:00 a.m., David Gray, otherwise called ‘Woodpecker’, a 46-year-old fish vendor of Middle Street, St Ann, was reportedly seen on the old Fisherman Beach property, which is now the property of the Port Authority of Jamaica.

Gray was reportedly being escorted off the property by a license firearm holder, when Gray allegedly pulled a knife and attacked the firearm holder.

Gray was shot in the right leg.

He was assisted to the hospital by a motorist, and is being treated for the injury.

The Ocho Rios police are investigating the incident.
