On first trading day of 2019, Everything Fresh tops JSE gains

Everything Fresh led gains Wednesday in trading on the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE).

On the first trading day of 2019, Everything Fresh closed at $1.74, up 12.3 per cent. It was followed by Lasco Financial, up 4.9 per cent to $4.72.

Posting the largest decline on the day was Jamaican Teas, down 12 per cent to $3.96. It was followed by Salada, down 10 per cent to $31.50.

The JSE Combined Index declined by 325.98 points (0.08 per cent) to close at 384,230.50. The JSE Index declined by 565.19 points (0.15 per cent) to close at 379,225.67.

The JSE All Jamaican Composite Index declined by 620.33 points ( 0.15 per cent) to close at 416,222.40. The Junior Market Index advanced by 17.84 points ( 0.55 per cent) to close at 3,264.68.

The JSE USD Equities Index declined by 0.28 points ( 0.18 per cent) to close at 159.33.

Overall Market activity resulted from trading in 51 stocks of which 21 advanced, 25 declined and five traded firm.

Market volume amounted to 1,509,482 units valued at over $21.57 million. Mayberry Investments was the volume leader with 184,285 units (12.21 per cent) followed by Jetcon Limited with 162,415 units (10.76per cent) and Lasco Manufacturing with 134,261 units (8.89per cent) .
