First Global Bank volunteers are all smiles after building a new home for Deniese Green.

With an aim of fulfilling lifelong dreams, the philanthropic arm of First Global Bank Limited (FGB) – Global Cares – and Food For the Poor Jamaica recently partnered to change the lives of Deniese Green and her son by building them a new house on Friday, October 18.

The new structure was erected in Content Gap, St. Andrew. The beneficiary and her family worked together with teams from FGB and Food For the Poor to complete the house.

Previously, Green and her child lived with five other relatives in an incomplete two-bedroom concrete unit, which lacked proper sanitary facilities.

Expressing her gratitude, Green said, “I want to say thanks to First Global Bank and Food for the Poor. Here I am, I’m going to move into my new house. It has always been my dream and, today, they made it happen.”

Presenting Green with the keys to her new house was FGB Vice President of Corporate Banking Norman Thompson.

“A home is perhaps one of the biggest life goals for many persons. In fact, at some point in our lives, many of us talked about owning our dream home. So it gives us, at First Global Bank, great pleasure to have facilitated the life dream of this mother and her young son, and we are grateful to Food For the Poor Jamaica, for partnering with us on delivering this dream. It is through this project that Deniese is now a new and happy home owner,” he said.

The handover of the house was done as a part of First Global Bank’s new campaign dubbed Dreams Delivered, which seeks to cater to the needs and lifetime goals of Jamaicans, giving them a chance to realise their dream. This is in keeping with the bank’s mission to empower people to get ahead goals in life and business.
