Fire destroys seven homes, leaves 14 homeless in Trench Town

Fire of unknown origin gutted seven houses in Trench Town.

A total of fourteen persons, including a pregnant woman were left homeless following the incident that took place at lower First Street.

Reports are that on Thursday at about 7:00 p.m., firefighters received a distress call from residents in the area.

Despite the quick response of the Jamaica Fire Brigade the homes were destroyed.

Firefighters from the Trench Town, York Park and Rollington Town stations took some 45 minutes to bring the blaze under control.
