Fire causes military plane to make emergency landing at GAIA

A military plane was forced to make an emergency landing at the Grantley Adams International Airport (GAIA) this morning.

The Barbados Fire Service received a call around 6:47 am, about a plane with an engine which was reported to have caught fire after takeoff from GAIA.

Officials at the Fire Service confirmed that the "mid-sized aircraft experienced a fire on board, but it landed safely."

10 fire officers under the command of Divisional Officer Gaskin, were among the emergency personnel who were on scene.
