Six-term Member of Parliament for Eastern St Thomas, the People's National Party's Dr Fenton Ferguson has endorsed Central Manchester MP Peter Bunting in his party leadership challenge against Dr Peter Phillips.

With the announcement over the weekend, Ferguson becomes the latest PNP stalwart to throw support behind Bunting's Rise United Campaign, which appears to have the momentum going into the September 7, 2019 polls.

"I have absolutely no doubt, after consultations, looking at the polls....having spoken to my constituents and my friends...  that Peter Bunting is the right choice for president of the People's National Party and by extension the next Prime Minister of Jamaica," Ferguson, a former PNP vice-president, said in a video released by the Rise United Campaign.

Angela Brown Burke, Rev Ronald Thwaites, Mark Golding, Robert Pickersgill, Derrick Kellier, Dr Dayton Campbell and Ian Hayles are among the other senior Comrades who are supporting Bunting's campaign.
