Female student among two killed in St James crash

Two persons, including a female student died as a result of injuries sustained when they were run over by a motorcar in Montego Bay, St James this morning.

Two other persons, including the student's sister and their mother were taken to hospital for treatment.

The police report that at about 7:30am a woman was accompanying her two daughters to school when they were hit down by a motorcar. The vehicle got out of control and then hit a man who was also travelling along the roadway.

The man died on the spot and the mother and her two daughters were transported to hospital where one of the siblings was pronounced dead.

The driver of the motorcar is said to be a nurse.

Personnel from the traffic division at the Freeport Police Station are investigating.
