Father and son among men charged with Reds’ murder in St Andrew
Detectives from the St Andrew South Police Division have arrested and charged three men, including a father and a son, with the murder of 26-year-old Anthony Rigg, otherwise called ‘Reds’, of Grassquit Glade, St Andrew on Oakland Road in the parish on May 6, 2020.
The three have also been charged with illegal possession of firearm, illegal possession of ammunition and conspiracy to murder.
• 18-year-old Derreon Facey of Spanish Town Road, St Andrew,
• 56-year-old DanzelFacey and
• 35-year-old Damion Richards, both of Mandela Terrace, Kingston 13.
Reports are that about 12.50 pm, Rigg was walking along Oakland Road in St Andrew when a motor vehicle was driven up, allegedly with the accused men aboard.
One of the men reportedly alighted from the vehicle and opened gunfire, hitting Rigg several times before escaping in the motor vehicle.
Rigg was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The men were later arrested and placed on an identification parade, where they were pointed out.
On August 4, all three men were charged after interview with investigators.
The date for their appearance in court has not yet been finalised.
