Fatal crash victims on Seaview Gardens’ roadway identified

The man and woman who died from injuries they sustained in a fiery motor vehicle collision in the Seaview Gardens area of St Andrew on Monday, have been identified.

They are Javaun Emanuel, a 20-year-old resident of Allman Town, Kingston, and 23-year-old Janade Lloyd, of Mocho, Clarendon.

Reports are that about 11.15 am, Emanuel and Lloyd were passengers in a grey Toyota Corolla motorcar that was being driven along Chesterfield Drive, the new bypass road that runs along the outskirts of Seaview Gardens.

The police said the driver of the vehicle, whose name was not disclosed, reportedly swerved the vehicle along the roadway and it got out of control and collided with an oncoming truck and then into another vehicle.

Emanuel and Lloyd were seriously injured and were rushed to hospital, where they were both pronounced dead.

The police said at least two persons reportedly survived the collision that left the car a complete wreck that was also burnt to a shell. No detail was provided on how the two managed to have survived the tragedy, or whether they were injured.
