Farmer for trial for ‘posting video of naked ex and her lover in bed'
A St Elizabeth farmer who is accused of using his cell phone to record a video of his ex-girlfriend and her new man who were both naked in bed, and then posting the video on social media, is to stand trial on May 12.
Jason Honeyghan, a 30-year-old resident of Lacovia in the parish, is charged with breaches of the Cybercrimes Act, burglary and malicious destruction of property.
The trial date was set when the accused appeared in the St Elizabeth Parish Court on Thursday.
His bail was extended until the trial date.
The allegations are that on July 8, 2018, at about 1am, Honeyghan went to his ex-girlfriend's home and forced open a window, damaging it in the process.
He then reportedly used his cell phone to video the woman and her male lover while they were asleep in a bedroom.
Honeyghan then posted the video on social media, where it was widely circulated among users.
The matter was reported to the police and following a probe, the farmer was arrested and charged.
