Farmer charged with damaging building with intent to commit murder

A farmer who allegedly set fire to a section of a house in an attempt to commit a murder in Yallahs, St Thomas last week, has been arrested by the police.

Charged with two counts of damaging a building with intent to murder is 29-year-old Barrington Henriques, alias 'Dave' and 'Davis', of Phillipsfield in the parish.

Reports are that on Monday, March 30, at about 4am, the complainant who was inside his house, saw fire coming from the front section of dwelling and went to extinguish the blaze.

Henriques was then allegedly seen leaving the yard.

Following a probe, he was arrested and later charged.

According to the police, a court date for the accused man has not been finalised.
